Fish Apartment

Fish Apartment is an artificial fish habitat and for the replacement of the damaged coral reefs. The use of fish apartment can gather fish by providing them with safe shelter and spawning ground for fish. After being left for several months, fish apartment will be grown by corals and therefore becoming new coral clusters.

The advantages of AquaTec Fish Apartment compared to common traditional methods (drowning things such as tire, car wreck, and other things into the water) is the presence of a strong and durable construction against current so fish apartment does not budge. This will prevent damage to corals surrounding the fish apartment and fish preservation purpose will be achieved.

1. Gani Arta Dwitunggal has installed 5 units of fish apartment in Tulamben, Bali that is drowned in depth +/- 15 meter as a form of concern for sea ecosystem and also as an assessment on fish apartment with the following result:

• On day 3 after installation, ornamental fish were visible in various sizes and came together to occupy spaces in AquaTec Fish Apartment
• On week 3 after installation, the entire AquaTec Fish Apartment configuration had been overgrown with moss, a set of small fish hatched from eggs and lived in the surrounding environment
• On month 2 after installation, moss on AquaTec Fish Apartment had disappeared entirely and replaced by barnacles and coral reef seeds. A set of soft coral (soft corals and sponges) grew on AquaTec Fish Apartment
• On month 7 after installation, AquaTec Fish Apartment had been overgrown by soft corals, sponges and anemones
